How it works

The ring releases hormones that keep eggs from leaving the ovaries, and make vaginal mucus thicker. The ring is inserted into the vagina once a month for 3 weeks at a time.

How effective is it?

Less than 1 out of 100 women will get pregnant each year if they always use the ring as directed. About 9 out of 100 women will get pregnant each year if they don’t always use the ring as directed.
