On the evening before his death, Jesus gathers his disciples together for supper. This supper was going to be their last meal together.
Before the meal he washes the feet of everyone who attended his supper. This significance of Jesus washing the peoples feet shows how Jesus takes the lowest position and acts as a servant to the others. This signifies Jesus as not wanting them to treat him like a emperor.
During the meal Jesus tells everyone the fact that he will be betrayed by one of his twelve followers. This shocks many of the disciples and it will end up being Judas Iscariot who betray him.
He shares the bread and wine, which he says are the symbols for his body and blood. This institution of the Eucharist is still in effect to this day.
