How Will Your Choices Affect Your Body?
A life style is a way that a person or group lives. Your choices for your lifestyle will affect your life for the rest of your life. When you choose to smoke, not exercise correctly, or you have a poor eating routine, it will affect your life in a negative way. Even the environment that you surround yourself with, can affect your life in a positive or negative way.
If you take the risk of smoking, you are going to slowly kill yourself. Instead of sitting at your great-grandsons 5th birthday party, you will be laying in your grave, dead, because of the bad choices you made during your life. Smoking is very damaging to your lungs. It is slow and deadly. The smoking slowly kills cilia, which are used to clean mucus from your lungs. When they are gone you develop a smokers cough. A smokers cough leads to chronic bronchitis, which makes breathing difficult. Soon it becomes so bad that lung cancer could develop. Only 13% of lung cancer patients live longer than 5 years after they were initially diagnosed.
More than ⅔ (68.8%) of adults are considered to be obese. Obesity is caused by an energy imbalance. Adults should be eating about 1,800-2,200 calories if they are moderately active. When someone starts eating more, unhealthy food, and starts taking in more calories than normal, they will most likely gain weight. If that person is also not exercising then they will gain a lot of weight and become obese or overweight.
When you are obese or overweight, there are many health risks. High blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease are just some of the health risks that come from obesity. It is estimated that around 300,000 people die every year from obesity.
