Description

An astronomers job is to study the universe. Most astronomers work in a specific field of astronomy such as planetary science, solar astronomy, or the formation of galaxies. Astronomers need to have a background in math and science. Astronomers need to be able to use sophisticated equipment and computers. A lot of tech skills are required.

Reports To

Depending on the position, an astronomer shouldn't have to report to anyone.

Responsibilities

An astronomer's responsibility is to study the universe and seek out new information.

Qualifications

Education: Ph.D.

Skills: Has to be able to type/use a computerand use high tech equipment

Abilities: Must be able to record and analyse data

Characteristics: Needs to have a good work ethic
