In the elementary math intervention program, the student's receive face to face instruction from me and then use iLearn as an online tool to supplement their understanding. I am still trying to figure out the right balance at the middle school level since iLearn is the only method of instruction used, the class sizes are much larger than the elementary setting, most of my energy is focused on keeping the students on task, and each student is at a different level. I am developing and will implement some new methods this upcoming year.

We are taking steps to become blended. With the Chromebooks, we will be able to start. We worked on somethings last year that was more personalized. I am very excited about how things are changing.

I want to go to a blended learning model. I've created videos and have found them to be an excellent tool for absent kids or reteaching. ***Side note: Anyone disturbed by the soda and liquids near the technology!?

I have tried with varying degrees of success. If I use this in class only, it has had a somewhat positive affect. When attempting to use it more in a flipped class model, I found students reluctant to do the assigned tasked outside school.

I've used many different sites for blended learning. My students access my classroom weebly site and from their are led to other sites that they use to facilitate their learning and/or to reteach a topic. I have not made my own videos yet, but I would like to. The students are motivated by online learning and i keep them accountable by having them fill out google forms or an exit slip to share with me what they have learned.

I have not used blended learning before in my classroom. I think the way I would use this, now that students will be able to bring computers, is for drill and practice as well as differentiation.

In my classroom we practice the idea of blended learning. In my Digital Technology 1 class I have every single lesson online so that the students can work at their own pace. I start out the class with a participation question and bellwork. The students work on their assignments either in the class or at home. The students need to determine what is the best program for the activity at times. If they want to explore and do something else I allow them to do so. In my Digital Technology 2 class it is a PBL environment. They pick their own projects, the choose the articles they want to read, and we start the class off with a discussion question where everyone is required to participate. We utilize online tools and videos to accomplish projects that they present at the end of every 3 weeks.

Now that our district has allowed for Chromebooks for every child in the 6th grade, a blended classroom will be easier to attain. Face to face content and activity is just as important as digital learning. I am excited to utilized the 1-1s in the classroom!

During the past few years, my students have been involved in Blended Learning. . . I just did not know that was the name of what “we were doing.” I have created a website that has many links that the students visit to either enrich their learning on a topic or to build their background knowledge on a topic. Additionally, I have utilized google drive to create docs, slide shows, or forms that I share with the students. These activities are used to apply a concept that was introduced whole group. Blended Learning has taken place in all content areas! The students are highly engaged with the learning experience as they love the use of technology. Next year, I am very excited about using Blend Space, Thinglink, and Google Classroom with our blended classroom.
