Leka Gajula - Nationally Recognized Gastroenterology Physician
The 2002 recipient of the University of Texas Medical Branch hospital academic fellowship award, Dr. Leka Gajula completed her gastroenterology fellowship in 2004. The president of Sugar Land, Texas’ Colon, Liver, Gastro Consultants, PLLC, she maintains membership with several professional organizations, including the Texas Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. Recognized by Consumer Research Council as one of the nation’s top physicians for six years in a row, Dr. Leka Gajula is dedicated to addressing celiac disease and nutrition issues. She also maintains a professional interest in pre- and probiotics, in addition to several other aspects of gastroenterology.
With past work experience that includes a tenure as the director of Wirth Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation center, Dr. Leka Gajula is also affiliated with St. Luke’s Sugar Land Hospital. A nationally recognized author and presenter, she has published in the GI Endoscopy Journal and Interventional Radiology Journal, among others. Additionally, Dr. Gajula was twice recognized for her poster presentations at Digestive Disease Week conferences. A member of the Houston chapter of the United Way, she also holds membership in the American Red Cross and the Save the Children Fund.
