Alexander The Great
Alexander the Great was the Macedonian king and the great military leader of the Macedonian army. Alexander the Great was born on July 20 356 B.C. in Pella, Macedonia. Alexander was the son of Phillip II of Macedonia and Olympias. Alexander's father, Phillip II, was the king of Macedonia before Alexander. Alexander's mother, Olympias, was princess of Epirus and daughter Neoptolemus I of Epirus; Olympias was also the fourth wife of Phillip II of Macedonia. Alexander was brother to Cleopatra of Macedon, Phillip III of Macedon, Thessalonike of Macedon, Europa of Macedon, Cynane, and Caranus. Alexander was the husband of Roxana, Parysatis II, and Stateira II. Alexander is believed to have had a son named Alexander IV of Macedon. Alexander died from malaria on June 13, 323 B.C. in Babylon, Persia( which is now Iran).
Fun Fact: Alexander the Great was born in Pella which is the capital of Macedonia.
Joan of Arc
Joan of Arc was the military leader of France. Joan of Arc was also known as "The Maid of Orleans." Joan's real name was Jeanna d'Arc. Joan was born into a peasant family in 1412, in Domrémy-la-Pucelle, France. Joan's parents were Isabelle Romée and Jacques d'Arc. Joan had three brothers named Jean d'Arc, Pierre d'Arc, Jacquemin d'Arc, and a sister named Catherine d'Arc. Joan of Arc knew that it would be hard fo r a girl to get into the army, so Joan dressed up like a man. When Joan was seventeen years old, she went into battle. Joan attended King Charles's coronation. King Charles was soon urged to besiege Paris, an English Stronghold. During the battle in Paris, Joan received a wound to the leg from a crossbow, but continued to fight. Joan led a battle over the British in Orléans at the age of 18. A year later, Joan was captured and burned at the stake in a small market in Rouen, France
Fun Fact: Joan of Arc's brothers, Jean and Pierre, fought along side Joan in some of her battles.
