Lisa Bhungalia - PhD Student in Geography at Syracuse University
Lisa Bhungalia is a Faculty Fellow in the Humanities and doctoral candidate in Geography at the Maxwell School at Syracuse University where she is completing her dissertation, ‘From the American People’: Aid, Counterinsurgency, and the U.S. National Security State in Palestine. Lisa Bhungalia’s research interests traverse a wide range of areas, including political and cultural geography, state theory and statelessness, humanitarianism, counterinsurgency, sovereignty, and North Africa and the Middle East. She is the author of several publications on geopolitics, mobility, and war, and she is presently reworking her dissertation on aid and counterinsurgency in the Palestinian territories into a book manuscript. In addition, Lisa Bhungalia has designed and instructed courses in Middle East geography at Syracuse University and assisted in teaching courses on global political economy, human geography and global cultures.
