Dr. Lloyd Takao - Pediatrics, San Francisco East Bay Region
For over 30 years, Lloyd Takao, MD, has worked as a pediatric physician in the San Francisco East Bay region, today working in private practice from his office in Orinda, California. After completing his MD in 1974 at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio (formerly Medical College of Ohio), Dr. Lloyd Takao completed an internship in internal medicine at Kaiser Foundation Hospital and a residency program at Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California, in 1979. Since that time, he has seen patients and developed expertise in the areas of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and pediatric asthma while working from his office shared with associate physicians in the Bay Area. For hospital in-patient operations, Dr. Lloyd Takao is on staff at Alta Bates-Summit Medical Center and Children’s Hospital Oakland.
Active in his community and the field of pediatric medicine, Dr. Lloyd Takao has served as a board member of the American Lung Association (1980-2000), as the staff physician for the Iron Man triathlon in Kona, Hawaii (1996-2003), and as a volunteer camp physician at the University of California Alumni Family Camp (1980-2006). Dr. Takao is a current member of the California Medical Association and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. When time permits, he also teaches medical school courses at the UCSF Medical Center for the Foundations of Medical Care program, serving as an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics since 2002.
