Iraq Water Profile

Iraq is competing for a fair and equitable share of the water in the Middle East.

Iraq's population is a lot smaller than Turkey's and a little bigger than Syria's. It is expected to grow a lot between now and 2050, so Iraq will need even more water for its growing population.

Water Use and Availabilty-
Iraq has more renewable water available than water withdraw, which is good. A little more of Iraq's water comes from outside the country than from inside.

Water Needs-
Iraq uses all of its water for agriculture, but the land is still dry in a lot of places. Also, it doesn't leave much water to use for industry and domestic uses. Iraq needs much more water, especially with a growing population and their dry land.
