Methamphetamine

IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE...

The United States Government reported in 2008 that approximately 13 million people over the age of 12 have used methamphetamine - and 529,000 of those are regular users. You will learn about how meth affects your brain, what meth does to your body, and why it's so addictive.

WHAT DOES METH DO TO YOUR BRAIN?

Methamphetamine floods the brain with dopamine which causes an over-stimulation of extreme high and low feelings which eventually damages areas of the brain that control emotion and pleasure. The brain builds up a tolerance to meth which creates a cycle of dependency. Methamphetamine causes you to hallucinate. It also causes your brain to speed up which can impair your decision making abilities. Meth causes long and short term memory loss. Users are unable to control behavior in a high state making them aggressive and have psychotic thoughts.

WHAT DOES METH DO TO YOUR BODY?

Methamphetamine causes users to see, hear, and even feel things that are not there. Users hallucinate that bugs are crawling under their skin causing them to try to dig them out which leaves open sores. Using this drug can lead to rotting teeth and gums due to a lack of hygiene, bacteria, teeth grinding, and the acidity of the drug.

Meth can cause users to lose their appetite and can lead them to being extremely thin. It restricts the skins blood flow and can cause the users skin to turn grey, cause acne, and open sores.

WHY IS METH SO ADDICTIVE?

Meth is a drug that makes you feel pleasure because it's a stimulant. Being a regular user of this drug causes the following:  faster heartbeat, seizures, high body temperature, heart attack, stroke, and or death. Users experience a debilitating withdrawal that includes anxiety and depression.

There is a risk of overdose when meth is injected. When you use meth for a long period of time you will develop "Methamphetamine Psychosis".  This means you have hallucinations, you will be delusional, you will be paranoid, and have bizarre and violent behavior.

People become addicted to meth faster then any other illegal drug. Using meth will train your brain to see that meth is the only way to feel good.
