WHAT THEY DO
Cosmetologists are people on the cutting edge of trends and styles in hair and beauty techniques, and they can transform their clients from simple to spectacular in a single sitting.
They can do hair, nails, eyelashes, skin therapy, or run or manage a salon.
Most cosmetologists work in beauty salons, spas, or parlors.
It depends on the employer how much they work, but they usually have normal business hours.(9-6)
The only injury that happens very often is cutting their fingers with sharp scissors.
HOW TO BECOME A COSMETOLOGIST
You have to go to school where you learn the skills you need to pass the state licensing test. You need a friendly personality, and you have to be really outgoing.
The median annual wage is $22,700, but most people tip their beautician.
Employment of barbers, hairdressers, and cosmetologists is projected to grow 13 percent from 2012 to 2022, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Most job openings will result from the need to replace workers who leave the occupation.
