Haiku is a ancient form of Japanese poetry that dates back as early as 1500. Surprisingly, haiku was practically invisible to America until it was introduced in the 1900s. It follows the simple syllable scheme of 5-7-5. It can be about anything as long as it follows this ryhme scheme as shown below.
