Plantation Life

Life for an African American in the 1854,  where you were brought and forced to work in cotton fields or in sugar mills for a long time. No matter how old you were, you were forced to work and if you didn't or hadn't been working hard enough, you would get whipped until you're bleeding. They often get injured while they are working and don't get enough time to stop and rest to eat. The slaves often try to run away from their owners, many had been caught but some did make it to North to where they were free from slavery. It was a sad part in history of African Americans at the time.
