# Oil Slick Project

The total area of the oil spill is 1506.195 miles

I approached the problem by first cutting the whole spill into simpler shapes, like squares, triangles, rectangles, etc. Then, I measured the shapes and looked for their area. (Rectangle, LxW; Triangle, bxh/2) Then, I multiplied my answers by 15 then added those answers up to get my area of 1,506.195

1. No, I don't because There were lots of small edges and curves it would have been almost impossible for me to measure.

2. I think they were pretty close, but, like I said in question one, I wasn't exact because of the curves and edges. I expect it to be less.
