Hosea Reflects Terminal Words From the Heart of the Torah into Tomorrow

Hosea 1-14 Leviticus 26

Hosea 2 ; 14 “Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Bring her into the wilderness And speak kindly to her.15 “Then I will give her her vineyards from there, And the valley of Achor as a door of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.

Leviticus 25; 55 For the sons of Israel are My servants; they are My servants whom I brought out from the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

Hosea 2; 16 “It will come about in that day,” declares the Lord, “That you will call Me Ishi and will no longer call Me Baali.17 “For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, So that they will be mentioned by their names no more.

[Hosea 11;1 When Israel was a youth I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son. 2 The more they called them, the more they went from them; They kept sacrificing to the Baals and burning incense to idols. 3 Yet it is I who taught Ephraim to walk, I took them in My arms; but they did not know that I healed them. 4 I led them with cords of a man, with bonds of love, and I became to them as one who lifts the yoke from their jaws; and I bent down and fed them.]

Leviticus 26 ;1 ‘You shall not make for yourselves idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves an image or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God.

Hosea 2;18 “In that day I will also make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, the birds of the sky and the creeping things of the ground. And I will abolish the bow, the sword and war from the land, And will make them lie down in safety.

Leviticus 26; 6 I shall also grant peace in the land, so that you may lie down with no one making you tremble. I shall also eliminate harmful beasts from the land, and no sword will pass through your land. 7 But you will chase your enemies and they will fall before you by the sword; 8 five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall before you by the sword.

Hosea 2; 19 “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in justice, In lovingkindness and in compassion,20 And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the Lord.

Leviticus 26; 9 So I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will confirm My covenant with you.

[Hosea 9; 11 As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird—No birth, no pregnancy and no conception! 12 Though they bring up their children, Yet I will bereave them until not a man is left. Yes, woe to them indeed when I depart from them! 16 Ephraim is stricken, their root is dried up, They will bear no fruit. Even though they bear children, I will slay the precious ones of their womb. 17 My God will cast them away because they have not listened to Him; and they will be wanderers among the nations.]

Leviticus 26; 10 You will eat the old supply and clear out the old because of the new.11 Moreover, I will make My dwelling among you, and My soul will not reject you.

Hosea 2; 21 “It will come about in that day that I will respond,” declares the Lord. “I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth,22 And the earth will respond to the grain, to the new wine and to the oil,and they will respond to Jezreel.

Leviticus 26; 2 You shall keep My sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary; I am the Lord. 3 If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments so as to carry them out, 4 then I shall give you rains in their season, so that the land will yield its produce and the trees of the field will bear their fruit. 5 Indeed, your threshing will last for you until grape gathering, and grape gathering will last until sowing time. You will thus eat your food to the full and live securely in your land.

Hosea 2; 23 “I will sow her for Myself in the land. I will also have compassion on her who had not obtained compassion, and I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ and they will say, ‘You are my God!’”

Leviticus 26; 12 I will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people. 13 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would not be their slaves, and I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.

Hosea 3; 5 Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king; and they will come trembling to the Lord and to His goodness in the last days.

Hosea 4; 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

Leviticus 26; 14 ‘But if you do not obey Me and do not carry out all these commandments, 15 if, instead, you reject My statutes, and if your soul abhors My ordinances so as not to carry out all My commandments, and so break My covenant,

Hosea 4;7 The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against Me; I will change their glory into shame.

Leviticus 26; 16 I, in turn, will do this to you: I will appoint over you a sudden terror, consumption and fever that will waste away the eyes and cause the soul to pine away; also, you will sow your seed uselessly, for your enemies will eat it up.

Hosea 4; 8 They feed on the sin of My people and direct their desire toward their iniquity.

Leviticus 26; 16 I, in turn, will do this to you: I will appoint over you a sudden terror, consumption and fever that will waste away the eyes and cause the soul to pine away; also, you will sow your seed uselessly, for your enemies will eat it up.

Hosea 4; 9 And it will be, like people, like priest; so I will punish them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.

Leviticus 26; 17 I will set My face against you so that you will be struck down before your enemies; and those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one is pursuing you. 18 If also after these things you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.

Hosea 4; 10 They will eat, but not have enough; they will play the harlot, but not increase, because they have stopped giving heed to the Lord.11 Harlotry, wine and new wine take away the understanding.12 My people consult their wooden idol, and their diviner’s wand informs them; for a spirit of harlotry has led them astray, and they have played the harlot, departing from their God.

Leviticus 26; 19 I will also break down your pride of power; I will also make your sky like iron and your earth like bronze. 20 Your strength will be spent uselessly, for your land will not yield its produce and the trees of the land will not yield their fruit.

Hosea 5;1 Hear this, O priests! Give heed, O house of Israel! Listen, O house of the king! For the judgment applies to you, for you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread out on Tabor.2 The revolters have gone deep in depravity, but I will chastise all of them.

Leviticus 26; 27 ‘Yet if in spite of this you do not obey Me, but act with hostility against Me, 28 then I will act with wrathful hostility against you, and I, even I, will punish you seven times for your sins.

Hosea 5;3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from Me; For now, O Ephraim, you have played the harlot, Israel has defiled itself.4 Their deeds will not allow them to return to their God.For a spirit of harlotry is within them, and they do not know the Lord.Leviticus 26; 30 I then will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and heap your remains on the remains of your idols, for My soul shall abhor you. 31 I will lay waste your cities as well and will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your soothing aromas.

Hosea 5; 5 Moreover, the pride of Israel testifies against him, and Israel and Ephraim stumble in their iniquity; Judah also has stumbled with them.6 They will go with their flocks and herds to seek the Lord, but they will not find Him; he has withdrawn from them.

Leviticus 26; 32 I will make the land desolate so that your enemies who settle in it will be appalled over it.33 You, however, I will scatter among the nations and will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become waste.

Hosea 5; 7 They have dealt treacherously against the Lord, For they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon will devour them with their land.

Leviticus 26; 29 Further, you will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters you will eat.

Hosea 5; 11 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he was determined to follow man’s command.12 Therefore I am like a moth to Ephraim and like rottenness to the house of Judah.13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria and sent to King Jareb. But he is unable to heal you, or to cure you of your wound.

Leviticus 26; 25 I will also bring upon you a sword which will execute vengeance for the covenant; and when you gather together into your cities, I will send pestilence among you, so that you shall be delivered into enemy hands.

Hosea 5; 14 For I will be like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear to pieces and go away,I will carry away, and there will be none to deliver.15 I will go away and return to My place until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; in their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.

Leviticus 26; 21 ‘If then, you act with hostility against Me and are unwilling to obey Me, I will increase the plague on you seven times according to your sins. 22 I will let loose among you the beasts of the field, which will bereave you of your children and destroy your cattle and reduce your number so that your roads lie deserted.

Hosea 6;1 “Come, let us return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.2 “He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him.3 “So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; and He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.”

Leviticus 26; 40 ‘If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me— 4 What shall I do with you, O Ephraim? What shall I do with you, O Judah? For your loyalty is like a morning cloud and like the dew which goes away early.5 Therefore I have hewn them in pieces by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth; and the judgments on you are like the light that goes forth.6 For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, and in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Leviticus 26; 38 But you will perish among the nations, and your enemies’ land will consume you. 39 So those of you who may be left will rot away because of their iniquity in the lands of your enemies; and also because of the iniquities of their forefathers they will rot away with them.

Hosea 6; 7 But like Adam they have transgressed the covenant; there they have dealt treacherously against Me.8 Gilead is a city of wrongdoers, tracked with bloody footprints.9 And as raiders wait for a man, So a band of priests murder on the way to Shechem; Surely they have committed crime.10 In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing; Ephraim’s harlotry is there, Israel has defiled itself.11 Also, O Judah, there is a harvest appointed for you, when I restore the fortunes of My people.

Leviticus 26; 41 I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies—or if their uncircumcised heart becomes humbled so that they then make amends for their iniquity, 42 then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land. 43 For the land will be abandoned by them, and will make up for its sabbaths while it is made desolate without them. They, meanwhile, will be making amends for their iniquity, because they rejected My ordinances and their soul abhorred My statutes.

Hosea 7;4 They are all adulterers, like an oven heated by the baker who ceases to stir up the fire from the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.5 On the day of our king, the princes became sick with the heat of wine; he stretched out his hand with scoffers,6 For their hearts are like an oven as they approach their plotting; their anger smolders all night, In the morning it burns like a flaming fire.7 All of them are hot like an oven, and they consume their rulers; all their kings have fallen. None of them calls on Me.

Leviticus 26; 26 When I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven, and they will bring back your bread in rationed amounts, so that you will eat and not be satisfied.

Hosea 8; 1 Put the trumpet to your lips! Like an eagle the enemy comes against the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed My covenant and rebelled against My law.2 They cry out to Me,“My God, we of Israel know You!”3 Israel has rejected the good; the enemy will pursue him.

Leviticus 26; 36 As for those of you who may be left, I will also bring weakness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a driven leaf will chase them, and even when no one is pursuing they will flee as though from the sword, and they will fall. 37 They will therefore stumble over each other as if running from the sword, although no one is pursuing; and you will have no strength to stand up before your enemies.

Hosea 8; 4 They have set up kings, but not by Me; they have appointed princes, but I did not know it.With their silver and gold they have made idols for themselves, that they might be cut off.5 He has rejected your calf, O Samaria, saying,“My anger burns against them!”How long will they be incapable of innocence?6 For from Israel is even this!A craftsman made it, so it is not God; surely the calf of Samaria will be broken to pieces.

Hosea 8; 7 For they sow the wind and they reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads; It yields no grain. Should it yield, strangers would swallow it up.

Leviticus 26;34 ‘Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths all the days of the desolation, while you are in your enemies’ land; then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths. 35 All the days of its desolation it will observe the rest which it did not observe on your sabbaths, while you were living on it.

Hosea 8; 12 Though I wrote for him ten thousand precepts of My law,They are regarded as a strange thing.Hosea 11; 8 How can I give you up, O Ephraim? How can I surrender you, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned over within Me, All My compassions are kindled. 9 I will not execute My fierce anger; I will not destroy Ephraim again. For I am God and not man, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not come in wrath.

Leviticus 26; 44 Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I so abhor them as to destroy them, breaking My covenant with them; for I am the Lord their God. 45 But I will remember for them the covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am the Lord.’”

Hosea 14; 9 Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, and the righteous will walk in them, but transgressors will stumble in them.

Leviticus 26; 46 These are the statutes and ordinances and laws which the Lord established between Himself and the sons of Israel through Moses at Mount Sinai.
