Luke Forshaw - Connecticut Elementary School Principal
As the principal of Ox Ridge Elementary School in Darien, Connecticut, Luke Forshaw continues a career with the Darien Public Schools that began more than a decade ago. Starting as an elementary teacher, he placed an emphasis on student learning and intellectual growth. Luke Forshaw engaged closely with faculty members in identifying best practices, including the use of technology, for enhancing students’ critical thinking abilities and understanding of grade-level concepts.
Dr. Forshaw has been active with a number of educational committees and assisted in efforts to revise K-5 social studies, math, and library and information technology curricula. The end result was that district students received more consistent delivery of educational content.
Dr. Forshaw earned a bachelor of arts in psychology at Hartford’s Trinity College with a minor in elementary education. He subsequently pursued graduate studies in curriculum and teaching at Columbia University’s Teachers College and is now working on a doctoral degree at the same institution. Luke Forshaw is a longtime member of the Association for Curriculum Supervision and Development.
