Printmaking Overview

There are 4 major types of printmaking

A print is a work of art made up of ink on paper or fabric existing in multiple examples.

Lithography is printmaking that uses a special kind of oily crayon, treated with chemicals, drawn on limestone.

Woodcut is the earliest printmaking technique, carve away the negative or area where you don't want ink on the plate.

Etching is an intaglio technique where acid is used to incise an image onto a metal plate.

Screenprinting is a form of stencilling.
