Neptune is the god of sea, freshwater, and earthquakes. He is easily identifiedsince in drawling because he often is drawn with a trident on his seahorses. His physical appearance is drawn with a beard he is also quite strong.
Neptune was brothers to Pluto (Hades), and Jupiter (Zeus). He is married to Amphitrite.
A legend associated with Neptune and Amphitrite, his wife, is that one day Neptune saw Amphitrite dancing on the island of Naxos and fell in love. When Neptune went to ask Amphitrite to marry him, she refused. Neptune was not discouraged. He sent one of his servants, a dolphin to Amphitrite. The dolphin had convinced Amphitrite to marry Neptune so in return Neptune immortalized the dolphin by placing it in the heavens as the constellation of Delphinus.
