You will be giving care  for people of all ages and backgrounds. Nurses should be able to put people at their ease, gain their confidence and deal sympathetically with their problems and fears.

You also must have good communication. You need to be good at listening as well as talking and you have to be constantly alert to changes in patient's conditions and the terms of care.

Nursing can sometimes involve managing distress. You'll play a key part in helping patients and families come through their crises.  You must be able to deal with emotional charged situations.

Nurses perform numerous tasks, from providing fundamental healthcare to assisting surgeons with advanced and critical procedures. RN education degree requirements range from a diploma to a bachelor's degree.
