Television is a big part in our society today. It was probably one of the greatest inventions. In society it put sterotupes on women. It made it seem like women loved to stay home and that we loved to get new appliences for the home. It also gave us tv shows. Which we learn do learn from these show and it is a way for to relax but it has done some damage to us. We are now really lazy because of tv. We just come home after work or school and sit down and watch tv. Kids now a days barely play outside because of it and now our obesity rate is going up and our creative is going down. There are good and bad perks to it. It is also interfering with our school. Dont get me wrong, there are alot of shows out there to watch to learn stuff but most of it is just pointless shows and some kids are starting to not do homework and study because of it.

Tv does give us insight on events in the world though. Before tv we didnt know much about the world and if we did we just heard about it. We never saw anything. But tv changes that. We have seen the little rock central fight, Brown vs. Board, Stupnik, berlin crisis, and the Nixon and kennedy debate! The nixon and kennedy debate was a game changer because before this no one actually saw a debate they just heard it. With this ability now people saw how nervous, clammy and sweaty Nixon was. But on the other hand Kennedy looked perfect. He was calm and relaxed and looked great. But you have to put in perspective that Nixon refused to put makeup on and also he had a cold so that is why he didn't appear as relaxed and calm as Kennedy. From seeing that people thought Kennedy was a better president because he could handle being under pressure more.

Politically, tv gave us an advantage. It once again showed up the Nixon and Kennedy debate, Kennedy's assassination, and most importantly the duck and cover video! The duck and cover video was a video about a turtle and he taught you want to do it if someone tried to bomb our country. At this time we were terrified because we thought that Russia was going to bomb us. Kids and adults were trained to be prepared for when this would happen because at the time it seemed like it was going to. So they made these video so everyone knew what to do and could live through this terrifying experience.

Lastly, it boosted our economy. From the duck and cover video everyone was building shelters and stocking up for this crisis. Also, with all the advertising on the tv it boosted businesses. Advertising doubled once the tv came into play! The revenue of businesses increased because they were advertising and then people would see there business and deals and go out and spend more. Advertising also made things more appealing to people and they made it seem like useless things were the must haves. So people went out and bought these things or ordered them and just from that business start to boom. They grew like crazy. This also lead to alot of competition between business and therefore they were trying to get your business so they had to lower prices.
