Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

A fun dinner idea for Fridays during lent
Serves 4-6 people

  • 2 C. elbow macaroni
  • 3 T. margarine
  • 3 T. flour
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 2 C. milk
  • 16 slices American cheese

Melt the margarine in a saucepan over
medium heat. Stir in the flourand salt. Add the
milk and being stirring until there are no lumps.

Continue stirring until the mixture becomes
thick and bubbly; cook and stir for 2 minutes
longer. Rip and squeeze cheese into chunks and
add  to the bubbling mixture. Continue
to stir until cheese has melted.

Meanwhile, cook the elbow macaroni.

Stir the macaroni into the cheese and place macaroni
mixture into a greased casserole dish.
