About Malia Okita
Throughout her career, account executive Malia Okita has demonstrated a proven ability to coordinate the production of events among various departments and organizations. She currently serves as a national account executive with The Freeman Company, where she is responsible for annual event revenue of more than $5 million and for producing the events. In this role, Malia Okita collaborates with a variety of designers, contractors, show managers, and labor unions to stage major trade shows and conventions.
Malia Okita joined the team at The Freeman Company in 2006 as an account executive and in that position secured contracts with such clients as VMWorld, Gourmet Housewares, and the San Jose Auto Show. Responsible for $50,000 in new business during her first six months, she continued to attract new clients while cultivating the company's existing patrons. Before taking this position, Ms. Okita worked for Hotel Montgomery in San Jose, California, as an assistant to the general manager, coordinating daily work plans and data collection as well as helping to plan events for clients in the social, military, educational, religious, and fraternal (SMERF) market segments. She utilizes this diverse experience, as well as formal education in hospitality management, in her current executive position.
