The Game Changers Virtual Speaker Series

The GTA school boards along with eLearning have organized a very special learning opportunity in an ongoing virtual speaker series over the next few months. Every 2nd Tuesday or so a Game Changer in education will be streaming virtually from 7-8. From the comfort of your home (and PJs) you can listen in and interact through a back channel. Want to explore the topics further? A special eCommunity will be available to interact with educators across the province. Watch the broacast page and twitter for this week's link with George Couros.

Mindomo is a web based graphic organizer tool that the ministry has licensed. Students can access it from any device and create individually or collaboratively with their peers. How do you set up your students? Go to the page and click on resources to access the app. No sign in required!

Stay tuned for an upcoming workshop in April.

Minecraft & Math

This week we had fun at Hilldale exploring how we could use the Doceri app to collect students thinking of how they would use 100 square blocks of land in Minecraft. Their designs and ideas are amazing.

Many classrooms are finding new and interesting ways to use student interest in Minecraft to capture their thinking like Countryside Village, Sir Isaac Brook and more. Are you using Minecraft in the Math classroom? Share with the #peel21st community.

At our recent Uniac Sunrise group we were sharing some of our favourite apps. Check out some of our favourites and add your own to the following padlet board.

A guiding question to leave you with...

I wonder if this question could guide our work moving forward. Too simple? #peel21st #WordSwagApp
