A graduate of Boston University School of Law, attorney Marc Rovner has served as general counsel and director of business development at the full-service title company BETA Abstract, LLC, since 1998. Rovner handles legal matters and business development for the firm’s branches in New York City and Oceanside, New York; Manalapan and Freehold, New Jersey; and Boca Raton, Florida. Since joining the company, he has won awards from both Stewart Title Insurance Company and Commonwealth Title Insurance Company. Moreover, attorney Marc Rovner speaks at continuing legal education events on issues related to real estate and title insurance.
During his spare time, Rovner enjoys professional sports. A third-generation season ticket holder for the New York Giants, he has supported them his entire life and goes to every home game. He instills this interest in the NFL in his youngest son, and the two are on a quest to visit every professional stadium in the United States. Over the past decade, they have visited nearly 20 of the 32 arenas.
Beyond watching sports, attorney Marc Rovner enjoys playing baseball. His team, the Ballbusters, competes four times a year. In January 2014, they played at the Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Baseball Camp in Sarasota, Florida. Additionally, Rovner serves as a volunteer coach of the Nassau County Titans, a National Junior Baseball League 14u team, and sits on the board of directors for Hewlett-Woodmere Little League.
ALTA Names New President
A native of East Rockaway, New York, Attorney Marc Rovner currently serves as general counsel and director of business development for BETA Abstract, LLC in Oceanside, New York. He stands out among his peers, and in 2015 he was presented with the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award. As a part of his work, Marc Rovner belongs to various professional groups and organizations, including the American Land Title Association.
The American Land Title Association (ALTA) recently appointed Daniel D. Mennenoh ITP, NTP as its president. He will serve in this role for the 2016-2017 term.
In commenting on the appointment, Mennenoh laid out several specific goals he hopes to accomplish during his tenure. He first expressed his desire to see increased understanding and implementation of ALTA Title Insurance and Settlement Company Best Practices. He also said that he plans to focus on driving forward policies and initiatives that help homebuyers understand the benefits of having title insurance.
Additionally, Mennenoh said he plans to continue forging strategic partnerships with state land title associations, key legislators, industry partners, and other stakeholders to keep the interests of ALTA’s membership at the forefront of the land title conversation.
