Guided by President Mark Olson

Led by Dr. Mark Olson, the John Leland Center for Theological Studies in Arlington, Virginia, is a Baptist seminary that has an international faculty. Since taking his position as president in 2007, Mark Olson has guided the school through sustained growth. Expanding beyond the Trustee Board, he created three advisory boards that created new connections with Baptist churches throughout Virginia and the District of Columbia.

The school features a curriculum well suited to the cosmopolitan character of the Washington, D.C., area and maintains close ties with a broad spectrum of denominations and churches. The John Leland Center is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and offers masters of theological studies to students preparing for academic teaching careers. Additionally, students aiming to become pastors can complete a master of divinity at the school.

The center also has recently expanded its offerings to include a master of Christian leadership. The degree curriculum is designed for students preparing for positions with a local church ministry or as church staff ministers.
