Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Just in time for Thanksgiving!
Ingredients: (For 8 Servings)
- 4 pounds of Yokon Gold Potatoes (8medium potatoes)
- 15 peeled garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons of Kosher salt
- 1 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of butter (or 1 stick)
Directions: (Cook/Prep time 50 minutes)
Step 1: Peel potatoes and cut 1/2 inch thick. Mince garlic cloves.
Step 2: In a saucepan, combine potatoes and garlic cloves; cover with water (about 8 cups) by 1 inch. Add 1 tablespoon salt.
Step 3: Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer until potatoes are easily pierced with a butter knife.
Step 4: Drain; return garlic and potatoes to pan. Stir over medium-high heat until dry, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Step 5: In a small saucepan, bring milk to a boil; pour over potatoes. Add butter and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mash until smooth and creamy.
