James and the Giant Peach

James’ parents died before James was even 10. Since this incident, he goes to live with his mean cold-hearted aunts. Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker punish James for everything. He is not allowed to play, only work, work, work! One day as James is doing work a man gives James a white bag for of items that will give him good fortune. Unfortunately, he drops the bag allowing the items in the bag bury in the ground granting other people and insects luck. A few days later, the Aunts realize a peach the size of Mount. Everest is in their backyard. The aunts strike rich! People start paying hundreds of dollars to enter the backyard. James goes out during the night and sees a hole in the peach and climbs in. He meets an elderly Grasshopper, a kind ladybug, a centipede who loves to show-off, a mysterious spider, and a worrisome Earthworm. The insects decide to adventure to New York. Will James and the insects be able to make it to New York or will they fail their goal? Read James and the Peach By Roald Dahl.
The author's message is that if you put your mind to it you can do it! James put his mind to reaching New York City and he made it.
