Australia is a nation that loves to celebrate and it says a lot about it as a nation. Australians celebrate themselves in all their regional diversity.

One of the best-known and most colourful festivals of the year in Australia is "Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras", which makes a noise in whole Australia each year.

This year it takes place between February 20th and March 8th.

The festival lasts for three weeks and was first celebrated in 1978. Nowadays there are more than 80 events within this festival and it is especially for gay and lesbian, but also for all other people.
