Mesopotamia was a dry, hot, sandy world. Irrigation was huge in Mesopotamia. It helped the Mesopotamians control the water and bring it to their crops. Before irrigation they relied on a flood to bring them water for their crops.Irrigation are basically ditches that lead the water to the crops (shown above).
