### The Question...

The Johnson twins were born seven years after their older sister. This year, the product of the three siblings is exactly 2,693 more than the sum of there ages. How old are the twins?

### The Work...

First we're going to want to set up the problem. We can do this using a brace chart and the first sentence in our problem…

"The Johnson twins were born 7 years after their older sister…"

And at the bottom of the page the second sentence…

"This year, the product of the three siblings ages is exactly 2,693 more than the sum of their ages."

Is represented by T(T)(S) + T+T+S+2,693

Next we're going to use the information we gathered above from the brace chart and work it out...

And now we're going to put it into the calculator...

And then we find that our answer is 12. The age of the twins is 12.
