A profession where an individual with a school counseling degree who is called as a School Counselor works in elementary, middle, and high schools to provide academic, career, college readiness, and personal/social competencies to all K-12 students through a school counseling program.

What School Counselors DO?

  • Provide valuable assistance to students regardless of whether they work in an elementary middle school or high school
  • Individual Counseling
  • Group Counseling
  • Consultation—working with administrators, teachers, and staff to meet student needs
  • Career development—developing and implementing career awareness
  • Public relations—explain importance of counseling with school staff, parents, teachers, students, community members, explain problems students may have

Let me tell you

It all started with PSYCHOLOGY!!

I was in 8th grade when I decided I want to have a degree in Psychology just because my neighbor was pursuing her bachelors in this field!

Yes!! It was that early!

What did I knew about Psychology back then?

I need not have to Calculate and play with numbers!

My Educational Qualification

Graduate Degree in Psychology

Masters in Social Psychology

Completed one Internship at an Orphanage and that is where my passion to work with school students started blooming :)

Work Experience

Project Assistant at an Education and Research Institute in Mumbai, India to provide resources and uplift underprivileged school students.I was responsible for coordinating and team work. I worked with

  • Faculty and Staff
  • MBA Students
  • Counselor
  • Project staff

The experience here reinforced my passion to work with students and hence I wanted to explore the field of School Counseling :)
