WHO:Celtics started halloween,Supposedly, the British and French isles started the celebration in order to appease the Lord of the Dead, Samhain. The Druids, or local priests, started rituals and celebrations including bonfires, in the hopes that they would make Samhain happy.

When:Halloween is celebrated on October 31

What:The eve of All Saints' Day

Where:As one of the world's oldest holidays, Halloween is still celebrated today in several countries around the globe.

Why:Halloween celebrates the Christian holiday of All Hallows Eve

How:During the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, typically consisting of animal heads and skins, and attempted to tell each other's fortunes.
