Michael Harris Ph.D.,

Michael Harris academic served as chancellor and professor of public and environmental affairs, business, and education at Indiana University Kokomo. Chancellor Michael Harris initiatives, vision and spirit as chancellor of IUK enhanced enrollment, fundraising and academic recognition. Under his leadership, IU Kokomo added 15 new academic programs, broke historic and unprecedented records in enrollment and fundraising, and was ranked in U.S. News & World Report for the first time in its history. He led the campus to initiate intercollegiate sports join the NAIA. Michael Harris academic also obtained the funding to renovate campus infrastructure and campus beautification. Most notably the Milt and Jean Cole Family Wellness and Fitness Center. Michael Harris was named, Person of the Year by the Kokomo Perspective, 2011. His recognitions also include: Honorary Commander 434th Air Refueling Wing, Grissom Air Base; named top academic by Maariv and appointed to Indiana Automotive Council by Governor Mitch Daniels.

Born in South Africa, Dr. Michael Harris earned a B.A. in economics and business administration from Bar Ilan University, M.A. in public policy from Tel Aviv University and Ph.D. in Public Policy, Indiana University. He completed two academic leadership seminars, IEM and MDP, Leadership Institute at Harvard Graduate School of Education and was invited to participate in "Round Table on Public Policy" at Harris Manchester College, Oxford University.
