About Michael Hollifield
Board certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Physician Specialties, Dr. Michael Hollifield practices medicine in Gainesville, Georgia. As a senior partner with Gainesville Emergency Department Services, P.C., he serves as an attending emergency physician at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Emergency Department. In this capacity, Dr. Michael Hollifield diagnoses and treats patients in an emergency room that receives over 110,000 visits annually. Also responsible for teaching medical students, he has served as a national oral board examiner in emergency medicine for nearly a decade.
To prepare for his career, Dr. Michael Hollifield studied for his bachelor of science in chemistry and biology at the University of North Georgia and completed the physician assistant program at the University of Florida before earning his doctor of medicine at the Medical College of Georgia. Inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, he received commendations from the school’s dean and a Preceptorship Award from the American College of Physicians. Following an internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center/Veterans Administration Medical Center Baltimore and a residency at the Brody School of Medicine of East Carolina University, Dr. Michael Hollifield joined Gainesville Emergency Department Services over 19 years ago.
