About Michael J Poling
This past May, Michael J. Poling received his bachelor of science from the Boston University College of Engineering. Throughout his undergraduate career, Michael J. Poling studied mechanical engineering with a focus on manufacturing and also pursued coursework in business administration. Actively involved with the school, he served as president of the Boston University Ski and Snowboard Club, one of the campus’ largest clubs with more than 3,000 members. He also functioned as the secretary and treasurer of the Boston University chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). A strong leader, Mr. Poling organized a Student Leadership Seminar at Boston University that involved students from more than 100 other universities.
The summer before he graduated, Michael J. Poling interned with Emerson Electrical Company and ASCO Power Switching and Controls in Florham Park, New Jersey. He developed a new testing method for the hardware used by the company in electrical switch gears and prepared a cost comparison between using machined and injection-molded parts.
