Solving Systems of Linear Equations

Solving w/ Substitution Method

Step 1, Solve for the first variable. You will start by rewriting the equation. You will then get one variable on one side. Once you have that, you will replace the variable with the equation you came up with. Then solve.

You will then solve for the second variable. You do this by plugging in the variable that you solved for into the equation you are most comfortable with. You will then get the second variable value.

Rewrite your original equation. Then rewrite the equation with the variables that you found

Then check your solution. You do this by plugging into the equation with the variables you got. If it is correct. The end statement should be true. If both equations are true, then the solution is true.
