Our Kiva Loans
Ms Goggin's Math Class
2014-2015

Through kiva.org and micro lending we hope to help people all over world.  We are participating in the fight against poverty one loan at a time.  Check out our loans!

Lillian's Group

6A made their first loan to Lillian's group in Kenya.  The criteria they set for lending on this day was to a person or group who had already successfully paid back a loan through kiva.org, a borrower who lived in an area of turmoil and a borrower who had a family or children to support.  While Lillian's Group has a long pay back period, the boys of 6A are excited to support their efforts for clean water in their village.

Idrissa

6B made a loan to Idrissa in Sierra Leone.  The criteria they came up with to make this loan was that the borrower needed to be living in a country experiencing turmoil, a borrower who was less than 50% funded at the time of lending and a borrower who had family to support.  The boys are excited to watch Idrissa pay back his loan in the next 8 months.

I Loaned to Razia because she is in a country of conflict. She also has a family to support. I also think this loan is below the aversge amount asked by a borrower.

I loaned to Juan. The main reason I went to Juan was that he's single but he cares for a kid. A mother reason is that he doesn't have a high percentage and he has a real business unlike some of the other people

I lent to angel because I wanted to finish of his loan because he only needed 25 more dollars. Also I noticed that he has a dog and I am I huge fan of pets. I didn't know what he needed these things for but I'm sure it was for a good reason.

I chose Carmelita because she has to support a family. I also chose her because she is in turmoil and I feel really bad for her. My last reason is that she is not funded very much and I hope this loan helps her get more of what she needs so she can be more successful.

I chose Sarwat Bibi because she is the only source of income for her family, and she has 2 children, and she's getting older because she's already 42 years old, she also lives in Pakistan, where there is a lot of violence and it's winter there.
