The Celebrate Texas Public Schools Week Video Contest deadline is Thursday, January 8, 2015 (submit video link to Bria Jones). Schools have a chance to win $1000. CMS West won last year and Mockingbird made the finals. Remember, these are 1 minute videos and several categories (Elementary, Middle and High School Category as well as Foreign Language—think maybe DLI). Don’t forget to read all the rules and specifications on the link below.

Principals and Assistant Principals- Just a quick reminder that School Board Recognition Month is coming up in January! This year’s theme, “A Work of Heart,” will help us all say “Thank You” and pay special tribute to the selfless work and heartfelt support each volunteer trustee offers to our learners and staff. Be sure to share the theme and design (yellow, blue, red, and green paint spatters w/a heart in the center) with your Art educators asap, so they’ll have plenty of time to get those creative juices flowing! Email or call Tamerah at ext. 6058 if you need ideas or a copy of the graphic.

By Request…Another Basic 30 Hour GT Session

With all the information coming at our new hires during the first few weeks of school as well as a few terrific new hires since the beginning of school, a request has been made for me to open another GT 30 hour training. PBL Campuses – Training Date Will Be ReScheduled

We have the opportunity host Kevin Gant (former New Tech Network PBL Coach) in the January or February. There was a conflict with our original date and Kevin in checking his calendar for availability. Kevin has agreed to spend two days with us training both campus administrators and a small team of campus educators in the PBL process. PLEASE go ahead and complete with the attached form with the names of the educators/administrators from your campus you would like to attend. (We understand commitment is tenuous without solid dates at this point.)
