Daren Vanderley is a third generation racer, who was born in a family of racing enthusiasts. While his father owns – “VDL Fuel Systems”, a company committed to building high-performance Holley carburetors for all levels of racing across the country; his grandfather was a well-known racer of his time and had many Bonneville land speed records under his belt.

Daren began racing at a tender age of five in an A-restricted kart and by the time he was eleven, he had already won a number of championships. He won his first championship at J&J Speedway, when he was only seven years old. Followed by this were many championships, which came as a motivation to him to do better than the previous time. After winning his first feature race at the age of eleven, he spent over two years traveling the southeast, learning new tracks, making laps, and competing on road courses in the Pro Division of the Skip Barber Formula Dodge Series. In addition to all this, he attended two car control clinics at Skip Barber Racing school, which helped him fine tune his natural racing skills.

In 2006, Daren Vanderley along with his team entered their first Pro Late Model race at the San Antonio Speedway ASA event and secured the sixth position. The next year, he started with a rebuild project with his father. The idea behind the project was to successfully rebuild a disassembled car as the Cell Phones For Soldiers Pro Late Model Ford #2. Two weeks later, Daren put that Ford on the pole at Mobile and broke the track record for Pro Late Models. The following years too turned out great for the racer, who ultimately wants to become a traveling engineer with a professional level team working under him.
