Virtual Manipulatives

Virtual Manipulatives is a free math app that allows students to compare fractions, decimals and percentages. It helps them learn which are equal to which. It includes a 'work space' where students can write down their own problems and work through it on the app.


iDoceo is an app designed for teacher to help them with planning and organization. The app costs $9.99, however it is a very helpful tool that can be used without internet connection. It includes a gradebook, calendar, planner, and can send emails and reports. It can even make randomized seating plans for you where you can input certain students who cannot be together.

Idea Sketch

Idea Sketch is a free app that allows students to create mind maps. Students can use  text, shapes and images to create maps on any topic. They can organized their maps into folders and then export them directly from the app to other tools such as Dropbox.


Kahoot! is a free app that allows to ask game show style questions that their students can reply to. It uses sounds and timers that make the quizzes fun and interactive. Teachers can share their quizzes with other teacher as well.

Sling Note

Sling Note is an app that costs $2.99 that is designed to help students take notes. They can view the app in split screen where they take notes on one side and then can view the internet or a calculator on the other side. They can import files and use handwriting or type. Notes can then be exported to other apps.
