Hello, my name is Mrs. Banda and I teach Graphic Design at Harlingen South High School, grades 10-12, and I'm beginning to document this part of my life journey as a way of encouraging my students to write more.
This class is not just about learning how to use Photoshop or the elements of design, but how students can find their voice and better themselves in this sometimes big world.

My Family & I
09/20/14 We also had some struggles this month. We have fallen behind on our electricity bill. As of today it is at about $900 so it was shut off yesterday. Luckily, my in-laws let us stay at their house last night. We have been struggling financially this past year; having 3 babies in 3 years is EXPENSIVE! The hospital bills, day care (About $1,000 a month) and everything else is just taking it's toll on our finances. BUT I have faith that God will get us through this financially difficult time in our life. We have walked on mountain tops, and right now we are simply walking through a valley with HIM guiding us the entire way. We are blessed that our babies are all healthy and happy, active little ones. Thank you for all of the blessings Lord!
09/21/14 Looks like our electricity is back on! However we had to do this whole, borrowing money from someone to borrow from someone else thing. It was weird, but it's working. (Borrowed $500 from my aunt, $100 from my mom.. but needed the money last night so borrowed the $600 from my dad and then will pay him back when the money comes in from my aunt and mom) Ha ha kind of strange, but it worked! I know the bible teaches us to be the lenders, not the borrowers and some day, we will be on the other side of the spectrum! I KNOW God is using this time to teach us about so many things we couldn't learn from simply reading in a book. We're learning how to do more with less, how to make our money stretch and overall just helping us to realize we need to put our faith and hope in Him that HE WILL provide. "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34. We have not been designed to worry about tomorrow, or next week or the next few years. Our bodies, hearts, minds and spirits were not created to worry, but to grow in our relationship with Him, to seek Him during the difficult times.
02/23: My husband FINALLY sold the vehicle he bought back in college. He really loved that car, but it just wasn't convenient for our family. It was completely his idea. Honestly, we had four vehicles, (my little white one that was given to us by my father in law, our suburban, his Tiburon, and his motorcycle). We were at home watching a movie and someone called with cash on hand, ready to purchase it! It was gone within 30 minutes! We weren't really pushing the sale, and finally just parked it along the road in a busy traffic area. What a blessing it was! It was a little bittersweet, because I remember he and I would go on little road trips when we were dating (before the babies) and that was fun.. but now we get to make new memories!
09/28/14: Our income tax return money has finally come in. I can't wait to get some of this debt paid off. My poor husband gets calls every 20 minutes from different debt collectors, (day and night). What a blessing to be able to pay off some debt. You'd be surprised how nice those debt collectors can be, when you speak with them and are willing to work something out. We've had lots of late fees removed just by asking. I'm excited to see how God will lead us to bless and help others with this little bit of extra cash. I need to "pay it forward" much more often!
