Trans-racial Adoption is both a Blessing and a Curse for Adoptees.

What is trans-racial adoption? Trans-racial adoption is placing a child in his or her ethnic group with adoptive parents or being placed in another ethnic group. Personally I think that is best for the adoptee to be placed in his or her ethnic group. Children should be placed in their ethnic group because they need to know what their culture is and their history.

One of the reasons why children should be adopted into their ethnic group is because they should know their own history and culture. Statistics show that many of these children that are not adopted into their ethnic group lose their identity and their history. They can be loved by many crowds but yet, they can be very lonely in some. When the child is adopted into the same ethnic group it is like they never left home. The children can easily blend into the family. Facts do show that they are not allowed to develop their own feelings.

Another reason why children should be adopted into their ethnic group is that the children don't feel at home, some children say they feel like outsiders. An example of a child not being born into the ethnic group is this girl Shannon. Shannon states,"I was treated like step-child, my father was horrible to me. I would not recommend being adopted into another ethnic group, it does mess with your mind knowing that you don't belong there." Many children say that they don't belong in socialites that they are adopted into.

As a conclusion, many people agree that adopting into their ethnic group is a good idea. Many children enjoy being born into their ethnic group because they don't feel like an outcast in their own homes. When they are adopted into the same ethnic group they never lose their idenity nor their culture.
