Guangzhou Circle

By: Sidney Velasquez

This building was built in 2013 by Joseph di Pasquale. It is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. It was built to resemble an ancient Chinese coin, an infinity sign, or the chinese lucky number "8." It's reflection on the water is what makes it resemble the infinity sign or an "8".

Fun Facts:

  • How many 1 inch donut holes would it take to fill the inner circle of the building?

                            - 3,423,380 donut holes

  • If you filled the building (not the inner cylinder, just the ring) with water, how many rings would it take to fill the Luxor Hotel?

                            - 3.7 of the building to fill the Luxor Hotel
