What is it?
           This is an app for the iPad that allows the user to view the solar system in 2D or 3D.

How can it be used?
           This app can be used in the elementary sky science unit. You can explore the solar system in a 3D sense, exploring and comparing the planets as well.

Strip Designer

What is it?
           This app allows the user to add text balloons and boxes onto photos, and give photos a hand drawn look.

How can it be used?
            This app can be used in an assignment where students have to make their own comic books.  Instead of having students hand draw their comics, they can work in groups to create a story, and take pictures to go with it, adding text and boxes.

Idea Sketch

What is it?
           This iPad app lets the user draw mind maps, concept maps, and flow charts.

How can it be used?
           Students could use this app while brainstorming for a project or assignment, and preparing for a presentation. Easy manipulation is an advantage to this app over pen and paper brainstorming.

Casey’s Contraptions

What is it?
           This iPad app allows the user to explore the elements of physics while creating complicated contraptions.  

How can it be used?
           Students can use this app to explore creating complicated contraptions faster than, and without the mess that comes along with, building a contraption manually as part of a science project.  

French 24/7 Tutor

What is it?
           This app helps the students practice French questions, vocabulary, and verbs.

How can it be used?
          This app can be used to help struggling students practice their French.  This app is also available in other languages and can be used with any level.
