Pyramids are giant triangle shaped limestone buildings built by Egyptians. They were used to hold the Pharaohs body. It was important to keep the body safe. It is probably the most noticeable thing in Egypt. For example the Great Pyramid was built for the Pharaoh Khufu
This is the Nile River. The Nile River was crucial to the Egyptians. It contained papyrus which allowed them to make paper. Without the Nile River they could have no water. Without water they could not farm or drink.
I will go over mummification now. Mummies were supposed to allow you to get to the afterlife. Step 1 is announcement of death so the civilians knew he was dead. Step 2 was to remove the brain because they thought it was useless. Step 3 was to remove the internal organs and those included the small intestine, the stomach, the liver, and the lungs. Step 4 was to cover the body in natron salt which dried out the body. Step 5 was to wrap the body in linen. And the final step was to move it to the final resting place.
Now we shall talk about Pharaohs. Pharaohs are the rulers of Egypt. They needed them for a more organized society. The Pharaohs were put in pyramids at first but they got robbed too often. They decided to put the bodies in the valley of the kings after that.
This is now about the gods of ancient egypt. They needed the gods to explain creation and other assorted. Anubis was the god of mummification and his symbol was a jackal. Osiris was the god of death. Horus was the god of the sky. Ra was the god of the sun. Ra and Horus were the major gods.
