Globalizing the Word

Symposium on the influence of globalization and transnationalism on the "making" of Native American literature

Featuring 15 distinguished scholars and writers, this symposium will engage the reigning critical paradigm in Native American literary studies – tribal nationalism – and consider the promises (or potential pitfalls) of taking more decidedly transnational approaches to the production and criticism of Native American literature in a global age.

Keynote lectures by Philip Deloria, Friday at 1 p.m., and Gerald Vizenor, Saturday at 2 p.m. See the Globalizing the Word website for full program and speaker list.
