Nadine Macaluso Receives Her Ph.D. in Depth Psychology

About Nadine Macaluso

Having earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology and depth psychotherapy at Southern California’s Pacifica Graduate Institute, Nadine Macaluso recently completed her doctoral course work in depth psychology with a focus on somatic psychology from the same institution. After gaining experience as a marriage and family therapist intern with Manhattan Beach Community Counseling, Nadine Macaluso now consults with patients as a private practitioner, treating couples, families, and individuals for abuse, trauma, depression, and other clinical issues, as well as building healthier relationships. In 2010, she authored Persephone and Delphina: Treating Women’s Depression Through Myth and Archetypal Stories, published by the Pacifica Graduate Institute.

Nadine Macaluso’s current dissertation research and training have emphasized the neuro-affective relational mode in working through issues of trauma, anxiety, and depression. Employed within a psychotherapeutic treatment regimen, this process provides patients with effective ways of regulating the nervous system and overcoming feelings of inadequacy, shame, and debilitating self-judgment. In her work with patients, Nadine Macaluso seeks to develop a sense of self-awareness and social connectedness that provides revitalization and renewed life meaning.
