Principles of Fitness

F- Frequency: the number of times you train per week
(4-5 times per week)
I- Intensity: the difficulty of the exercise you do; how hard you work
(target heart rate)
T- Time: how long you train for
(at least 30 minutes per session)
T- Type: specific training for specific sport

training should be relevant and appropriate to the sport for which the individual is training in order to produce a training effect.
To become better at a particular exercise or skill, you must perform that exercise or skill. To be a good cyclist, you must cycle. The point to take away is that a runner should train by running and a swimmer should train by swimming.
