The Lifecycle of a Butterfly By: Emily B
First, butterfly begins as an egg the size of a pinhead.
Next, the egg hatches into a larva aka caterpillar. They eat leaves A LOT!
When the larva gets big enough, it doesn't eat anymore and attaches to a branch or leaf. The larva forms a hard shell on itself. This hard shell is a chrysalis.
Lastly, the adult gets out of the pupa stage looking like a different animal. It is basically a different animal, it's a BUTTERFLY!
